RAJOURI : Mahila Shakti Kendra Rajouri on Monday held an online interaction cum awareness programme with women Sarpanchs of various blocks of Rajouri district including Lamberi, Darhal, Dhangri, Panjgrain and Planger.

The event was held under the supervision of DSEO and Nodal officer of MSK, Bilal Rashid Mir.

The team of MSK headed by Women Welfare Officer, Anum Mirza, along with District Co-ordinators including Nazma Sheikh and Sanjana Thakur educated the female Sarpanchs about the declining child sex ratio and its impact, BBBP, Sukanaya Samridhi Yojna, women helpline number 181, child helpline number, PC & PNDT Act 1994 besides various women-centric laws like Dowry Prohibition Act 1961, Indecent Representation of Women Prevention Act 1986, Domestic Violence Act 2005, Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act of 2013,Ujjawala Scheme, Various scholarships under Ministry for Minority Affairs.

The women Sarpanchs highlighted various women related issues mainly the problem of school dropouts in case of girls.

Women Welfare Officer sought detailed information from the participants regarding the welfare activities being carried out by them for the women in their panchayats.

Regarding activities being carried out by these women Sarpanchs to contain the spread of Corona virus, it was informed that hundreds of masks have been distributed besides creating awareness among the people in their areas about the preventive protocols to avoid the risk of the virus.

The MSK team also urged upon the Sarpanchs to work towards Swachhta Campaign in the area and take care of the needy while maintaining the SOPs norms.
