Srinagar, 16th June: irector health services Kashmir, Dr Samir Mattoo today in a press communique expressed full satisfaction and gratitude towards all its health care workers including Consultants, Medical officers, Dental Surgeons, nurses, Pharmacists, Radiographic/Dental/Lab Technicians, Drivers, Safaiwalas, ASHA Workers and ministerial staff for their relentless amd tireless job during COVID-19 Pandemic.
Dr Mattoo also thanked all hospital administrators for their proactive role during Surveillance and contact tracing of positive cases and lending full support to the teams on ground.
He further said that Directorate is fully aware of the fact that our limited manpower resources are stretched across kashmir division for manning COVID-19 facilities apart from runing routine services in all health care centres across the divsion under the ambit of Directorate of health services Kashmir. Covid facilities which are being manned by the staff of DHSK include Dedicated COVID-19 Hospitals, Covid care centres, Quarantine centres, Screening and sampling at international airport Srinagar, mass Surveillance and Sampling for COVID-19 at village levels and screening facilities at National Highway near Qazigund.
Its pertinent to mention here that Directorate of health services Kashmir has trained more than 1000 health care personnels including Lab technicians, Dental Technicians, Nurses, pharmacists etc for COVID-19 Sampling, Rapid antibody testing, Doning and doffing of PPEs and transportation of samples from periphery to COVID-19 labs in Srinagar.
Directorate of health services Kashmir is also using mass media and social media to educate people how to protect themselves from COVID-19 infection, the three most important steps being Hand Hygeine, wearing masks and Social Distancing.
Dr Samir Mattoo once again thanked all its health care workers for their relentless and tireless services being provided by them amid COVID-19 Pandemic while risking their own lives for protecting communities and to prevent spread of infection.
A lot has been done and a lot more needs to be done.
