SAMBA : The ESIC hospital Bari Brahmana has been designated as covid-19 hospital by the Union Government.

“In compliance to the explicit directions of Government of India, the ESIC hospital Bari Brahmana, notified by ministry of Labour & Employment and endorsed by Department of Health and Medical Education, has been designated as covid-19 hospital,” a district administration official said.

The official said that after declaration of ESIC Bari Brahmana Hospital as Covid hospital by the centre, the Financial Commissioner Health and Medical Education, of UT of J&K, also issued necessary communication vide letter no. PS/FC/ H&ME/Covid-19/2020/90 dated 25/05/2020 for taking over the hospital for fighting Coronavirus.

In this connection, district administration Samba and Chief Medical Officer, Samba contacted Dr. Sonika Kundan, Nodal Officer of ESIC Hospital duly appointed by Medical and Health Education department, Govt of India, for taking over the 25 beds capacity of the hospital against the approved 50 beds, he added.

“It has been ensured that Covid facilities within the ESIC hospital are kept separated from General OPD services. Maintaining safe physical distance in the premises of hospital has been ensured along with adherence to other safety measures whereas General OPD, disbursement of medicines stocks, routine checks ups, lab testing and other facilities are open for general public as it is been practiced in other Covid designated hospitals” the District administration added.
