Seven more people tests COVID-19 positive in Ladakh; active cases rise to 64

Leh, June 10: As per the media bulletin released by the Directorate of Health Services UT Ladakh, seven more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Leh district of UT Ladakh. With this, the number of COVID-19 active cases in UT Ladakh has gone up to 64; 23 in Leh district and 41 in Kargil district (with one patient of Kargil admitted in SKIMS Srinagar).

The bulletin informs that 89 samples were tested at COVID-19 Laboratory Chuchot Yokma yesterday: 87 samples of Leh district and 02 samples of Kargil district. Out of these, 07 positive reports and 80 negative reports were of Leh district and 02 negative reports were of Kargil district.

The bulletin also informs that the condition of all 64 active cases of COVID-19 in UT Ladakh is stable. Today 72 samples were sent to NCDC New Delhi for testing. Out of these 23 samples are of Leh district and 49 samples are of Kargil district.

The bulletin further informs that 29 nomads from Pahalgam reached Shagshi Nallah Taisuru. All the nomads were screened and samples were taken for COVID test. They were instructed for strict home quarantine at their temporary residence at Shangshi Nallah, and also instructed about the importance of social distancing, use of masks and frequent hand washing etc.

In order to disseminate awareness about COVID-19, information through loudspeakers was carried out in Yokma Kharboo, Lamsoo and Hagnis villages by BMO Chiktan.

67 passengers and 147 drivers of 94 trucks/tankers and light motor vehicles were screened at Khaltsi check post yesterday. The vehicles were also sanitised.

The Health workers at Upshi check post screened 109 passengers yesterday including drivers and helpers who came to Leh in 46 tankers, 38 trucks and 05 light vehicles.
