Jammu | 07-June: As per the COVID Bulletin issued by government this evening, 37 fresh cases were reported from Jammu division & 583 cases were reported from Kashmir division.
The worrisome factor in this figure is that only 32 persons out of 620 have travel history and rest 588 have no travel history.
These figures are scaring because they are indicating somehow community spread especially in Kashmir division has started.
Public health experts are not in favor of the government opening up public spaces amidst the spread of the contagion.
“Due to the clear signs of community spread from north and south Kashmir, opening up doesn’t seem to be a wise strategy at all,” said a well-known public health expert on condition of anonymity.
The most affected districts today are Kulgam (161 cases), Baramulla (132 cases), Srinagar (87 cases), Pulwama (60 cases) & Anantnag (59 cases), all are in Kashmir.
It also mentioned that 90 COVID 19 patients also recovered in last 24 hours
In Jammu division 37 cases were reported in last 24 hours, 22 from Jammu out of which 10 had travel history, 5 from Doda, 4 from Rajouri, 2 each from Samba & Kathua and 1 from Poonch.
