Srinagar: Amid reports about the reopening of markets at various places in the Valley, the divisional administration Kashmir on Wednesday said that strict action will be initiated against those found violating the government orders.
Eyewitnesses told that the markets at various places have reopened after the closure of over two months in wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pertinently, the markets across the Valley remained closed after the government announced lockdown to prevent the deadly virus from spreading.
As the Government of India announced unlock 1.0, the Jammu and Kashmir administration decided to continue with the lockdown till June 08, saying that there will be no relaxation in the restrictions.
However, some of the markets as per the eyewitnesses were seen open in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir today.
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, P K Pole told that strict action will be taken against those found violating the government orders. “We have not decided to ease the restrictions yet. But, a review meeting will be held on June 08 to decide the future plan,” he said.
