Srinagar, June 03: Three terrorists were killed and a army soldier injured in an ongoing gunfight with government forces in Astan Mohalla Kangan area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday.
Director General of Police Dilbag Singh told that three JeM terrorists have been killed in the ongoing operation. However, he said, the identity of the slain terrorists was yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile official sources told that one army soldier was also injured.
Earlier, according to the reports reaching GNS, a joint team of Police, Army’s 53 RR and 183 BN CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Astan Mohalla .
As the joint team approached the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.
A senior police officer confirmed the exchange of fire between the joint team and the terrorists. As per the sources, two to three terrorists are believed to be trapped. (With GNS Inputs)
