HANDWARA, May 26 : In its continuous offensive against menace of drug abuse *Handwara Police* continues it’s war against drugs.
Based on reliable information, a naka was laid at Ganapora Crossing in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kralgund.* During checking one person namely Danish Farooq Mir S/o Farooq Ahmad Mir was apprehended and during his personal search 50 gms of Heroin was recovered from his possession.
In this connection case FIR No. 66/2020* U/S 8/21 NDPS 109 IPC Act has been registered against him in Police Station Kralgund and investigation taken up.
Similarly a Naka was laid at Batgund crossing in the jurisdiction of Police Station *Qalamabad.* During search of a truck bearing registration no Jko9B. 4743, Two persons namely
1) Ab Rouf Bukhari S/o Manzoor Ahmad Bukhari
2) Shabir Ahmad Malik S/o Gh Mohdin Malik
were apprehended and during their personal search 500gms of Charas was recovered from their possession.
In this context case FIR No. 51/2020 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered against them in Police Station Qalamabad and investigation taken up.
These efforts are hugely hailed by the general masses. Handwara Police has appealed general public to co-operate in sharing all the information related to drug abuse so that curative steps can be initiated..
