Jammu, May 22: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh Thursday led the officers and cops in commemorating the National Anti-Terrorism Day pledge across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to a statement issued it said that impressive functions were organised observing COVID-19 protocols, and all preventive measures like maintaining social distance and wearing of masks in the respective districts/units and offices Officers and cops took pledge to continue their fight against the menace of terrorism.
The DGP read out the pledge to the officers and cops at office of Superintendent Police Operation Srinagar.
On the occasion, the DGP said that J&K Police is on the forefront against the militancy since last more than three decades. He said “our hundreds of officers and cops have sacrificed their lives in protecting the sovereignty and integrity of the nation. J&K Police will continue to fight the menace to maintain the peaceful environment of Jammu and Kashmir.”
The DGP said that “it is our responsibility to protect the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. Anti-national elements are misguiding our youth and lure them to join the militancy and the fate of militants is known to all.”
He stressed upon officers and cops to use every opportunity in Police Public meetings to guide our energetic youth to choose a good career for prosperous and peaceful living.
Besides IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar the pledge function was attended by the DIG CKR Mohammad Suleman Choudhary, SSP Srinagar Dr Haseeb Mughul, SSP operation Srinagar Tahir Bhatti and other gazetted officers of the district.
At Police Headquarter Jammu J&K a function was organized in the conference hall of PHQ here today morning. The function was presided over by IGP Headquarter Gareeb Dass.
Following proper health protocols, IGP Headquarter Gareeb Dass and IGP CIV Alok Kumar read out the pledge to uphold and promote peace, social harmony, and understanding among all fellow human beings and fight the forces of disruption threatening human lives and values.
The function was attended by Director Prosecution PHQ S M Kapoor, AIG (P&T) PHQ, Rayees Ahmad, AIG (Pers.) PHQ Rajeshwar Singh, AIG CIV Rajesh Bali, AIG Welfare/ Communication Manoj Pandith and other gazetted officers of PHQ besides the subordinate staff of headquarter.
Meanwhile, the Anti-Terrorism Day was observed at all district Police headquarters, Armed battalions, Railway Police Headquarter Jammu, Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy and other training institutions of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
The supervisory and controlling officers led their subordinates by reading out the pledge.
