Srinagar, May 18 : Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Monday witnessed three COVID-19 deaths even as positive cases showed yet another spike at 106 taking the UTs’ total tally to 1189

Officials told that, 106 patients were tested positive for COVID-19 since the last update in J&K including 94 from Kashmir division and 12 from Jammu division. Among the new cases are 55 cops and five medicos.

They said 83 samples were tested positive at CD hospital Srinagar, 5 at SKIMS, 11 at army’s command hospital Udhampur and rest at other private labs.

They further added that among 106 new cases 59 are from Anantnag district including 55 cops, 12 from Srinagar, 12 from Kulgam, 2 from Bandipora, 4 from Kupwara, one each from Baramulla, Shopian, Budgam, Ganderbal and Pulwama in Kashmir division and 2 each from Jammu, Kuthua, Rajouri, Poonch while as 1 each from Udhampur, Ramban, Kishtiwar and Doda in Jammu division.

They said new cases include 55 cops including a police officer who were tested positive at 11th battalion J&K Armed Police at Anantnag district, 8 patients and 5 doctors. Dr G H Yatoo Nodal officer for covid-19 at SKIMS said that out of 1498 samples tested at SKIMS lab on Monday, 5 were tested positive while as 2713 samples are under process.

He said that five new cases include 18 and 21-year-old female and 30-year-old make from Gonipora Handwara besides a 70-year-old male from Darbagh Shopian and 26-year-male from Rambag, Srinagar.

Dr Salim Khan Nodal officer for covid-19 at GMC Srinagar said that out of 750 samples 83 were tested positive including 55 from DPL Anantnag, 8 patients from SMHS hospital, 5 doctors including 3 from ENT section of SMHS, one from government dental college Srinagar and one from MCH Bemina, two each from Anantnag, Jammu and Srinagar, 1 each from Ganderbal, Kulgam, Handwara, Pulwama, Doda, Banihal, Kishtiwar and kuthua.

Officials said that the patients tested positive include 30 and 38 year old males from Anantnag, 52 year old female from Srinagar, 32 year old male from Pulwama, a lady from Kalu check Jammu, 48 year old male from Kuthua, 45 year old male from Banihal Ramban, 25 year old male from Kupwara, 20 year old male from Kishtiwar, 19 year old female from Doda, 50 year old male from Kulgam, 28 year female from Ganderbal, 70 year old female from Bahufort Jammu, a lady from Bandipora admitted in LD hospital, 26 year old female from Rajbagh Srinagar, 50 year old female from Bemina, 75-year-old female from Kokernag admitted in SMHS with CA thyroid on Tracheostomy, 55 year old male from Fateh Kadel admitted in SMHS with appendicitis, 65 year old female from Kulgam who died at CD hospital on Monday, 56 year old male from Kargil admitted in SMHS with Pancreatitis, 70 year old female from Budgam, 55 year old male from Pattan Baramulla and 27-year-old female from Sallar Pahalgam.

They while giving details said that 5 positive doctors include 30-Year old ENT doctor R/o Kulgam, at present Chanapora, Sgr, 42 year old ENT doctor R/o Budgam, A/P MehjoorNagar, Sgr, 46 year old ENT doctor from Ladakh, 27 year old from Asham Bandipora,orthodontist from Dental college and 30 year old doctor of MCH SKIMS.

Lt Col Inam Danish Khan from Army’s Command Hospital Udhampur said that 11 travellers from Kulgam and Udhampur were tested positive on Sunday late night. He said that so far 12591 tests have been conducted at the hospital so far.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir on Monday witnessed deaths of three covid-19 positive patients taking toll of total number of deaths of covid-19 positive patients to 16 including 14 from Kashmir division and two from Jammu division.

Dr Salim Khan Nodal officer for covid-19 at GMC Srinagar said that a 75 year old male patient from Hillar area of Kokernag in Anantnag district, 65 year old female patient from Souch area Kulgam and 75 year old lady from Kokernag Anantnag died at CD hospital.

75 year old man from Kokernag was admitted in SMHS where he was tested positive and later shifted to CD hospital where his latest reports also came positive for covid-19, he said adding that a 65 year old female from Kulgam was admitted in Surgical ICU at SMHS hospital as a case of Sub Dural haemorrhage (SDH) and was shifted to CD hospital after her reports came positive and she died instantly after admitting her at CD hospital due to Cardiac arrest.

He added that a lady from Kokernag had a last stage thyroid cancer was admitted in SMHS where from she was shifted to CD hospital after her reports came positive for covid-19.

As per officials figures 173 positive cases including two deaths and 61 recoveries are from Anantnag, 169 including five deaths and 96 recoveries are from Srinagar, 159 including one death and 09 recoveries are from Kulgam, 137 including and 128 recoveries are from Bandipora, 119 including 81 recoveries are from Baramulla, 109 including 75 recoveries are from Shopian, 101 including 48 recoveries are from Kupwara, 58 including 30 recoveries are from Budgam, 24 including 15 recoveries are from Ganderbal and 17 including 6 recoveries are from Pulwama.

In Jammu division, 47 including 27 recoveries and one death are from Jammu district , 34 including 01 recovery is from Kathua, 26 including 01 death and 01 recovery is from Udhampur, 24 including 01 recovery is from Ramban, 13 including 06 recoveries from Samba, 07 including 04 recoveries from Rajouri, 03 each from Poonch and Reasi with 01 recovery in Reasi, 03 from Kishtwar including 01 recovery and 01 from Doda.

As per the daily information bulletin 114,788 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while as 29,208 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 665 persons are in hospital isolation while as 89 persons are under hospital quarantine.

According to the bulletin, 66,511 persons have completed surveillance period and 18,300 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 88,601 samples are available.

Out of 88,601 the number of samples tested negative stands at 87,312 while as 1289 have been tested positive, among them 665 are active and 609 persons have recovered and 15 persons have died.
