Jammu, May 17: The authorities in union territory of Jammu and Kashmir sunday increased the excise duty of liquor by 50 per cent.
Officials said that the decision to hike the excise duty on liquor was taken in wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
They said that the order was issued the by Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir union territory G C Murmu.
Pretienlty, so far the government of India has issued three phases of lockdown to contain the spread of deadly virus while the UT has so far reported 12 deaths and over one thousand positive cases were detected.
