Srinagar, May 15: Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Friday crossed 1000 mark as 30 more cases tested positive for the novel Covid-19. The total cases in the UT stand at 1013

Among the fresh cases were a gate keeper of Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar and two-non-locals. Officials told  that all 30 cases were tested positive in Kashmir division.

They said that eight cases were tested positive at SKIMS, 10 at Lal Path Lab Srinagar and 12 at CD hospital Lab Srinagar. Dr G H Yatoo Nodal officer for coronavirus at SKIMS told  that out of 1210 samples tested at virology lab SKIMS, 08 were found positive and reports of 514 samples are awaited.

He added that out of 8 new cases, 06 belong to Baramulla district, one each to Pulwama and Bandipora. Dr Salim Khan Nodal officer for coronavirus at GMC Srinagar told  that out all 655 samples that were tested at CD hospital lab in last 24 hours, 12 were found positive

He further added that results of 511 samples are awaited and 540 more samples were received on Friday. He further added 12 new cases include a 45-year-old gate keeper of GMC srinagar who belongs to Sambha and at present lives at Sahil guest house Rajbagh.

The other 11 include a 29-year-old female from Habba Kadal Srinagar, 38-year-old female from Ramban, 35-year-old male from Gund Ramban, 35-year-old male from Udhampur, 39-year-old male from Kuthua, 33-year-old male from Krishanpur Udhampur, 31-year-old male from Farid Kote Punjab, 21-year-old male from Dahnagri Kuthua, 31-year-old female from Nowshera Rajouri, 38-year male from Jodhpur Rajasthan and a student with a travel history from Okay Kulgam. Most of the samples of these people were sent to CD hospital from Lakhanpur checkpoint on Srinagar-Jammu highway.

Officials said that 10 samples were tested positive at Lal Path Lab Srinagar, including 8 from Srinagar and two from Kupwara.

They said that persons who were tested positive at Lal Path Lab Srinagar include 31 year old female from Hyderpora, 37-year-old female from Nawakadal,16 year old female from Nawakadal, 40-year-old female from Alamgari Bazar, 35-year old male from Alamgari Bazar, three males, all 40, from Chanapora and Parimpora besides 35 and 55-year old two males from Kupwara.

Officials from Baramulla said that new cases belong to Mirgund and Tangmarg areas while as officials from Pulwama said that new case is a pregnant lady from Ghat Tokuna in Awantipora belt of district.

As per officials figures 153 positive cases including four deaths and 84 recoveries are from Srinagar, 145 including one death and 26 recoveries are from Anantnag, 135 including one death and 122 recoveries are from Bandipora, 116 including three deaths and 67 recoveries are from Baraamula, 107 including 63 recoveries are from Shopian, , 85 including 48 recoveries are from Kupwara, 72 including 6 recoveries are from Kulgam, 52 including 21 recoveries are from Budgam, 23 including 14 recoveries are from Ganderbal and 15 including 5 recoveries are from Pulwama.

In Jammu division, 39 including 26 recoveries and one death are from Jammu district , 24 including one death and 19 recoveries are from Udhampur, 21 including one recovery from Kuthua, 11 including 4 recoveries from Samba, 6 including 1 recovery from Ramban, 5 including four recoveries from Rajouri, 3 including one recovery from Reasi and one who has already recovered is from Poonch.

As per the daily information bulletin 105,941 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while as 27,760 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 489 persons are in hospital isolation while as 142 persons are under hospital quarantine.

According to the bulletin, 64,285 persons have completed surveillance period and 13,254 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 70,306 samples are available.

Out of 70,306 the number of samples tested negative stands at 69,293 while as 1013 have been tested positive, among them 489 are active and 513 persons have recovered and 11 persons have died.
