Kupwara, May 15: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone today chaired a meeting with CDPOs to review the functioning of the Integrated Child Development Services.

It was informed in the meeting that there are 2320 Anganwadi Centres (AWC) in 11 blocks of the district which are run by 7 CDPOs and 61 Supervisors. It was also informed that 103 Anganwadi Centres are running in Government buildings and 2217 are running in rented buildings. Besides, 121 AWCs are under construction under MGNERGA Convergence.
It was informed in the meeting that procurement of nutrition is made by Procurement Committee consisting of concerned Panchayat Sarpanch and Supervisor. The supplementary nutrition has been distributed in all 2320 AWCs of the district, besides, 3 month Rice supply acquired from FCI has also been distributed.

The ADC directed the CDPOs to submit details of funds available with their respective Angandwadi Centres within a week’s time so that the funds could be utilized in the best interest of child welfare. He also directed the concerned to closely monitor the overall process from procurement of the nutrition to the consumption by children.
