Pulwama May 06: As per the media reports and the local sources coming in from Beighpora village of Awantipora encounter site, the top Hizbul terrorist Riyaz Naikoo is being believed to be gunned down by the security forces moments back.
A gunfight broke out between security forces and terrorists in Beighpora Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday morning.
An official told that police launched a search operation on Tuesday evening after getting inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.
“A joint team of 55 RR, CRPF and Awantipora Police launched cordon and search operation in the area, ” he said.
He said a top Hizb commander is believed to be trapped and operation was underway when this report was filled.
