Rajouri, May 04: At least ten sheep of a nomad family were killed while four structures received partial damages in night long Line of Control (LoC) shelling in Rajouri’s Manjakote area.

The officials told  that ten sheep owned by the nomad family were killed in the shelling. They a few sheep are also missing after the shelling took place.

Similarly, cattle shed at Rajdhani and two houses at Niaka Panjgrian village of Manjakote Tehsil also suffered partial damages in the shelling.

A district administration official said that teams headed by Tehsildar Manjakote and Sub Divisional Police Officer Manjakote visited the shelling affected area on Monday afternoon and took stock of the losses.

He said several villages including Niaka Panjgrian, Rajdhani and Paryali got affected in Rajouri due to overnight shelling.

Meanwhile, cross border shelling erupted in Kalal area of Nowshera sector of Line of Control in Rajouri in the evening.

“At around 04:20 PM, cross LoC shelling started in Kalal,” an official of police from Nowshera said.
