Baramulla, May 04: Cross border shelling erupted in Uri sector of Kashmir division on Monday morning, officials said.

Officials said that Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation along the LoC in north Kashmir’s Uri sector in Baramulla district.

“Pakistani troops used heavy mortar shelling and target check posts in Hajipeer sector in Baramulla district in the wee hours of this morning,” they said. “Indian troops guarding the posts have retaliated beffitingly,” they said.

However, panic gripped among the surrounding villagers. A police officer said  that firing is on from both sides in Hajipeer sector of Uri.
