Srinagar, May 02: Junaid Azim Matto, Mayor of Srinagar city Saturday cautioned the citizen’s about the prevailing situation and said not to take this pandemic lightly.
In a series of tweets, Mayor informed the general public that a government employee has tested psotoev for novel coronavirus and said a long way to go before we could come out this (Pandemic).
Taking to microblogging website twitter Junaid Matto said, “A sudden spurt in cases – all new positive cases in Rainawari are contact cases of elderly patient who passed away a few days back.
Another case in Narwara has come in clandestinely and not disclosed his arrival. TRAGIC!
SMC focusing on Narwara, Rainawari, Bemina, Solina today.”
In another tweet he wrote “Another positive case that of an allied/administrative staff employee from a hospital.
Thankfully was off duty since two weeks and under home quarantine after showing respiratory symptoms. Tested negative previously. Re-tested and now positive.
Shows – need to remain vigilant!”
In yet another tweet he said, “Have passed directives for General Sanitization roster to be suspended for today and all SMC Decontamination fleet and manpower to focus on sites of positive cases”.
“Please don’t take this pandemic lightly. Still a long long way to go before we could possibly be out of this., he said in a tweet.
