Jammu, May 02: An elderly on Saturday late evening  proved positive for novel coronavirus who was under administrative quarantine, with fresh case the total number of positive cases in entire union territory has gone up to 667.

Officials said that an eldry aged around  60‐years from Sarore P.s Bari Brahmana with travel history from Srinagar has tested positive for coronavirus.

He was in administrative quarantine at Shivam Resort Nonath P.s Ghagwal since 30.04.2020 and his COVID sample was  taken on  01.05.2020 at AH Ghagwal. The  result of his test declared today at GMC Jammu late evening, the official said.

He said Subsequently, a Medical team of Samba reached Shivam Resort at around 2145 hrs, taken him to CD Hospital Jammu for further treatment.

The official also said that the primary contacts of the positive patient with trvalel history of Kashmir are being tracked and as per protocol surveillance team will visit the native as well.

Prentinelty, with fresh case from sarore in Jammu division, total number of positive cases in entire union territory of Jammu and Kashmir jas gone up to 667.
