Jammu Mar 20 : The process of detention and surveillance of people coming from Leh and other outside places in the valley continues. As of now, 78 people have been kept in a separate place on the outskirts of Srinagar under this campaign, which started on Wednesday. At the same time, about 40 students from England and Bangladesh had to work hard to be held in confinement.
A police spokesperson said that as per precaution by District Magistrate Budgam, students from Bangladesh and England were to be kept in confinement as a precaution at Srinagar International Airport on Thursday.
When the medical authorities requested these students to cooperate to keep them in exile, they did not agree to it and started protesting at the airport arrival area. They broke the glass panes. Not only this, the parents of these students waiting outside the airport arrival terminal also started protesting.
All these passengers reached Srinagar from Leh in an Air India flight
According to the spokesperson, the magistrate reached the spot with the help of the police and tried to calm the protesters but they did not agree and continued their protest. The protesters were later pacified on the magistrate’s instruction.
Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, the district vice-president of Srinagar, tweeted that medical and logistics teams have been deployed for those kept in confinement. They have requested their families not to mobilize there. Please tell that all these passengers reached Srinagar from Leh in an Air India flight.
