Jammu | 31-12-2019: You won’t be able to see that iconic blue board hanging on the top of Lakhanpur toll post now as the LG administration has taken a decision to close down toll post at Lakhanpur, Kathua which used to charge toll charges from commercial vehicles.
Though State sales tax department and central excise department will continue to operate at Lakhanpur as they were earlier but no toll will be charged from any type of vehicle from midnight.

In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 4 of the Jammu & Kashmir Levy of Tolls Act, 1995, (Act No. VIII of 1995), the Government of Jammu & Kashmir hereby directs that the Toll Post established at Lakhanour, district Kathua under the provisions of the said Act, shall cease to operate w.e.f 01-01-2020
