Ramban, Dec 10, TEN Network | Post the independence of India, centre, the then successive state governments and prevailing Union Territory administration has miserably failed to facilitate a hamlet in Raman locality with single approaching road, a bridge over river they cross every morning risking their lives forcing them to trek over a distance of 4-5 kilometers daily having narrow and bumpy escapes subjecting hundreds of residents to face immense hardships over the decades now despite taking active part in mainstream activities.
In Ramban areas like, Chamhaal, Dardahi, Ahama and Brargadi areas have turned an offsite spots for authorities and political representative when it come to facilitating the citizens and fluffing the promises made with them, locals have complained about the unavailability of road access to their areas since Indian independence, they said that on daily bases we’re made to trek over 4-5 KMs over narrow and bumpy escapes which make us to fear for our lives but now we are used to it since this was in our fate so are we facing all this despite taking active part in political process and knocking the doors of those at the helm of affairs.
We have always returned with assurances from administrators and political representative but years have passed there seems to be no relief for us from this incident styled life impressed upon us due to their unending negligence, “over the years we have been carrying patients, elderly, children and pregnant women’s on shoulders for medical treatment which causes them more pain when on way to health center, in absence for medical facility in locality we take all our patients to some other parts without having transport facility available for us any of the time which worsens the condition of patients.” Aggrieved residents told TEN Network.
We were promised of better tomorrow; “we reached out to all those in power but to no avail it seems that all our requests have felt to deaf ears leaving us to suffer, over the years we have realized that all of us are looked as mere a vote bank only by politicians and administrator have left us on god’s mercy despite being aware about our conditions and what are we going through for decades now.”
Our hamlet has been left out among all other existing; we are treated like ‘we belong to some other world’, people living in the area belong to economically weaker section, many of the times local Member of Assembly visited the area and assured the necessary help but so far nothing has been done in this regard making mockery of all our demands, residents told TEN Network.
In a very bizarre recent incident locals were seen carrying a lady patient for medical treatment after she complained of severe pain, a video has also appeared on social media also in possession of TEN Network.
The resident have appealed the Union Territory Lt Governor G C Murmu for his personal intervention into the matter and requested him to visit the hamlet to see himself what people are made to go through for decades.
