‘Datamail’ powered by Data Xgen empowers people to receive, understand and share information in their mother languages. The Indian IT giant has announced that domain and email services in the Kashmiri language would be launched soon.
Global innovator in breaking the barrier on internet, Data Xgen, with its solution XgenPlus, provides ‘Make in India’ Datamail offers email services in the Kashmiri language for Kashmiri people. Around 7 million people speak the Kashmiri language in Jammu Kashmir.
“We are making all efforts to break the linguistic barrier. We have succeeded in offering email addresses in more than 20 languages and now plan to cross 30 languages by 2020. In the change scenario, Kashmir needs special attention and empowerment therefore people of Kashmir will be now empowered with email services in their own preferred language,” said Dr Ajay Data, Founder & CEO, DataXgen Technologies.
Dr Data is the first Indian to have been chosen as a member of CCNSO (Country Code Name Selecting Organization) of the global internet body-ICANN. He is also credited to be the first Indian to Chair, Universal Acceptance Steering Group (UASG) of ICANN.
Historically, Kashmiri language, spoken by the majority of people, suffered due to negligence and non-acceptance by the rulers for more than hundreds of years by which the Kashmiri language could not emerge out of its dialectal shell.
To resurrect the Kashmiri language Data Xgen will launch domain and email address to make communication easier for the majority who speak the Kashmiri language. The company will launch domain and email address in the Kashmiri language in January next year.
‘Datamail’ is the world’s first linguistic email app developed by Data Xgen Technologies and it is a free email service that allows a user to create an email address and communicate via email in their preferred or mother language. The company currently provides email addresses in 15 Indian Languages along with International Languages such as Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Thai, Korean, Arabic, Cyrillic and so on.
“Our service breaks a major linguistic barrier for those people who do not know English or those who prefer to work in their mother language without depending on any other language. We need Internet infrastructure to be well aware of different scripts,” Dr Data added.
India is a multicultural and multilingual country but Mother Language is one thing that binds everyone together. Today when the internet is the key source of education, information and entertainment, it has become very important to target the right audience and Mother Language plays a very important role in this.
“It is only just to make the world more open and connected and give everyone the power to receive, understand and share information,” Dr Data said.
