New Delhi, Dec 05, TEN Network | Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram on Thursday said his first prayer after being released from Tihar jail was for the people of Kashmir, who had been “denied basic freedom.”
“As I breathed the air of freedom last night, my first prayers were for the people of Kashmir who have been denied basic freedom,” he said.
Chidambaram was addressing media persons at the Congress headquarters in New Delhi.
He said he intended to visit J-K if the government would allow him.
At the presser, the former finance minister also launched a scathing attack on the government, calling the economic slowdown a manmade catastrophe (Tribune)
