Jammu, Dec 04, TEN Network | Light motor vehicles (LMVs) will be allowed from both sides on the arterial Srinagar-Jammu highway after re-opening on Tuesday following a day long suspension, officials said.
Civilian traffic on the 270-km highway was suspended on Monday to allow smooth passage of security convoys and to facilitate the maintenance of the road damaged by recent landslides, they said.
“No heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) will be allowed to move on the highway in the morning”, a traffic department official said.
However, HMVs will be allowed from late afternoon on the Srinagar side towards Jammu, the official said adding that there will be no movement of HMVs from Jammu to Kashmir. PTI
