Udhampur, Nov 30, TEN Network | A woman along with her three daughters was killed and three others received serious burn injuries after a gas cylinder caught fire in Maitra area of Ramban late evening on Friday.
Reports said that a LPG cylinder kept inside a house behind DC Office in Maitra area caught fire and later blasted.
An official said that on getting information, police and fire and Emergency services teams rushed to the spot and started rescue operation with the help of locals, but till then the house was damaged and four persons had lost their lives while three others sustained grievous injuries.
He said that the injured persons were rushed to District Hospital Ramban, where from they were referred to GMC Jammu in a critical condition.
The deceased were identified as Darshana Devi, wife of Bishan Dass, a resident of Tangar, Ghandhari at present Maitra and her 3 children.
The injured has been identified as Pritam Singh, a resident of Balihote at present Maitra, district Ramban. The identity of two injured children was not ascertained when the last reports were compiled.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Ramban Police Station and investigation started, said an official.
