New Delhi, Nov 27, TEN Network | Minister of State for Home Affairs GK Reddy on Wednesday informed Parliament that as per inputs, attempts are being made by Pakistan-based terrorists to reactivate their camp in Balakot and restart their jihadi indoctrination courses against India.
Reddy further assured that the Indian government was committed to taking steps to protect the country’s borders and maintain its integrity and sovereignty.
On February 26, a fleet of Indian Air Force jets had bombed and destroyed terror launch pads at Balakot in Pakistan in a pre-dawn aerial attack.
“Inputs indicate that attempts are being made by Pakistan-based terror outfits to reactivate its camp at Balakot and restart their religious and Jihadi indoctrination courses against India,” he said while replying to a written question.
The Balakot airstrikes were in response to a terror attack on a convoy of CRPF vehicles, which had claimed the lives of 40 jawans on February 14, in Pulwama of Jammu and Kashmir.
The MoS further underlined that the government has adopted a policy of zero-tolerance towards terrorism.
He further assured that the action taken by the security forces are effective due to which a large number of terrorists have been neutralised in Jammu and Kashmir in the last few years. (TN)
