Jammu, 22 Nov, TEN Network : As part of World Heritage Week 2019 celebrations, Mubarak Mandi Heritage Society today held a presentation about the history and perspective planning of restoration and adaptive reuse of Royal Palace Complex.

The presentation was organized with the help of MMJHS Consultant Sanrakshan Heritage Consultant Pvt. Ltd in collaboration with Tourism Department and Directorate of Archives, Archeology & Museum inside the Ex Army Headquarter building.

Mayor JMC Chander Mohan Gupta was the Chief Guest who attended the presentation along with Deputy Mayor Poornima Sharma, Chairman JMC- Baldev Singh Baloria, Surya Prakash Padha, Inderjeet Khajuria, President, Paryatan Vikas Mandal, Representative of JK Tourism Federation, HOD Department of Museology, Jammu University Dr. Poonam Choudhary, Representative of Chamber of Commerce, Representative of Jammu Heritage Society and officers from different departments like Archives, Archaeology and Museums, Deptt of Floriculture, Department of Geology & Mining, Department of Tourism, Department of Handloom & Handicrafts, Food Craft Institute etc.

While speaking on the occasion, Executive Director Mubarak Mandi Jammu Heritage Society Deepika K. Sharma, informed the gathering that this presentation is part of public dissemination and interaction about the ongoing project of Mubarak Mandi so as to sensitize the citizens about their glorious heritage.

Pertinently, a series of events are being celebrated in view of ongoing World Heritage Week 2019 being observed by the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) from Monday 18th November, 2019 to Sunday 24th November, 2019 across the Country.

The objective of the celebration is to make people more aware of and also for the preservation of cultural heritage and monuments.
