Leh, Nov 21, TEN Network | The Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Leh Gyal P Wangyal, Dy. Chairman Tsering Sandup and Executive Councillors of LAHDC, Leh in a message conveyed heartfelt gratitude to Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman for the historic decision taken by Union Cabinet in approving establishment of National Institute for Sowa-Rigpa (NISR) in Leh as an autonomous organization under the Ministry of AYUSH. The NISR is projected at an estimated cost of Rs. 47.25 crore.

The LAHDC, Leh members also expressed their deep gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and MP Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal for recent significant decisions taken in favour of UT Ladakh. There was mention of launching of Winter-Grade Diesel for the first time in UT Ladakh that remains unfrozen up to minus 33 degree Celsius, announcement of number of development projects for the UT of Ladakh in the areas of power, solar energy, education and tourism with an estimated investment of Rs. 50,000 crores.

CEC also applaud the Centre Government for ensuring the provision of making budget allocation for the UT of Ladakh non-lapsable in order to enable the local administration to make full utilisation of the total allocated funds as per the region’s developmental needs.
