Udhampur, Nov 16, TEN Network | Continuing jammu and kashmir police (JKP’s) War On Drugs offensive, Udhampur, Police with an effort to contain the spread of narcotic drugs/ psychotropic substances under the directions of SSP Udhampur, Police has recovered 10 kg of charas at Jakhani Chowk, NHW, this morning, officials said.
Sh. Rajiv Pandey, IPS SSP Udhampur, said that, a police party of PS Udhampur led by Insp. Vijay Singh Choudhary SHO PS Udhampur under the supervision of Dr. Rohit Chadgal DySP Hqrs. Udhampur and Sh. Rajinder Singh Katoch Addl. SP Udhampur,while conducting surprise checking of vehicles on NHW at Jakhani Chowk, Udhampur. During naka checking police party intercepted one Hyundai Verna bearing registration no. GJ01KQ 9339 for checking. During thorough search of said vehicle, 10 kg of charas was recovered from the possesion of two interstate narcotic smugglers identified as,Sheikh Abdul Latief S/O Abdul Satar R/O H.No. 3150 Mastan Mohalla, Ahmedabad and Shial Karim Desai S/O Karim Desai R/O Syed Basa Society,Ahmedabad Gujarat.
Both were arrested on spot and charas weighing seized.
In this connection, A Case FIR No. 546/19 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act, stands registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation into the case is going on, police said.
