RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 29: Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today interacted with the contesting Sarpanch and Panch candidates at Kotranka during a meeting which was also attended by the people from Block Budhal, Rajnagar and khawas.
Pertinently, the election in Block Budhal, Rajnagar and khawas will be held during the 7th phase of the ongoing panchayat elections. In Block Budhal there are 35 panchayat halqas and 283 panch constituencies, while in Block Rajnagar there are 11 panchayat halqas and 91 panch constituencies and in Block Khawas there are 15 panchayat halqas and 121 panch constituencies.
The contesting candidates and people apprised the DC of several issues pertaining to the election process which included adequate security arrangements during the election process.
During interaction with the candidates, Deputy Commissioner advised them to strictly follow the Model Code of Conduct for smooth and successful conduct of polls.
He assured them adequate security arrangements have been put in place to ensure that the elections are conducted in a free-and-fair manner.
DC informed that flying squads have been constituted to check any violation of the model code of conduct and to ensure free and fair elections whereas Chief Electoral Officer has also deployed the general observer and expenditure observers to ensure implementation of Model Code of Conduct during the election campaign.
Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by SSP Yougal Manhas, ADC KotrankaVed Parkash and other sectoral officers from Budhal, Rajnagar and Khawas.
