RAJOURI OCTOBER 04: District Election Officer, Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today reviewed the arrangements being made for the smooth conduct of Urban Local Body Polls in district Rajouri scheduled for October 10, 2018.

A detailed discussion was held on various issues pertaining to Polling stations, electoral rolls, ballot paper for EVMs, manpower, training of ROs, AROs and other polling staff, election material for polling stations, transportmanagement, dispatch of polling parties, communicationplans, collectioncentre, counting plan and poll day arrangements.

SSP Rajouri, Yougal Manhas briefed the meeting about the security plan for each polling station. The DEO asked the Police authorities to deploy adequate manpower to ensure hassle-free conduct of elections with special focus on hypersensitive and venerable polling stations.

The DEO further asked the concerned departments to conduct a survey of ITI Rajouri and Government Boys HSS Rajouri and submit a report about the practicability of the locations for the dispatch and collection center. The Transport Department was directed to ensure proper transportation facilities for the smooth dispatch of polling parties and their receiving at the collection centers.

The DEO also enquired about the status of polling stations from then concerned ROs and AROs and directed the CMO to provide first AID kit or depute medical officers at all polling stations.

The meeting was informed that most of the polling stations have adequate basic facilities. The General Observer and Expenditure Observer also briefed the DEO about the election related activities.

The DEO asked the officials involved in the election process to put their best efforts and work in a synergized manner to ensure free, fair and transparent elections in the district.

The meeting was attended by ADC Rajouri Sher Singh, ADC Sunderbani, Nowshera and Kalakote, ASP Rajouri, CEO Rajouri Development Authority, all Nodal Officers, Tehsildars, ROs and AROs of the district.
