UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER 02: NSS & NCC Units of Government Degree College for Women, Udhampur organized a symposium contest on the topic “Relevance of Gandhian Philosophy” on valedictory day of “Swachhata hi Sewa” programme in the premises of College Complex here today.

The programme commenced with welcome address by NSS Programme Officer, Prof. Swarna Bhougal.  Around 11 volunteers of  NSS & NCC participated in the contest in which Akriti Sharma, Harsirjan Kaur and Shruti stood First Second and Third respectively.

While addressing the students, the Principal Dr. Chander Shekhar highlighted the importance of Gandhian principles like Truth & Non-Violence in the present scenario. He also praised the volunteers for their active participation in the programme. Dr. Usha Sharma, Dr. Shaveta Sharma, Dr. Rabia Iqbal Mir were the jury member of the programme.

Certificates were distributed among the NSS & NCC volunteers who participated in “Swachhata hi Sewa” programme.

Later the college organized its first ever alumni meet in the premises of College Campus here today in which more than 50 alumni across the social spectrum participated in the meet. While speaking on the occasion, the Principal extended his gratitude towards all the alumni who spared their valuable time to come. He exhorted upon the participants the idea that all should come forward and give their valuable feedback/suggestions in order to improve the academics, co-curriculum and initiate other developmental projects which otherwise college is lacking in.
