Jammu Sept, 11: Acting firmly against the drug menace and its propagators on the directions of Dr Koshal Sharma JKPS, SSP Samba, District Police Samba today arrested a Drug Peddler and recovered 2 kg 600 Gms poppy straw.
A Police Party of Police Station Bari Brahmana headed by Inspr Ravinder Singh Rakwal, SHO P/S Bari Brahmana, laid a surprise check point at Channi Kartholi, Bari Brahmana and intercepted one person on suspicious grounds.
During frisking, 2 kg 600 gms poppy straw was recovered from his possession. The accused has been identified as Shamsher Lal Bhagat S/o Ram Lal R/o Channi Kartholi, Bari Brahmana. The accused was arrested on spot along with contraband items. In this regard case FIR No. 164/2018 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act registered at PS Bari-Brahmana and investigation taken up.
