Jammu, Sept 8 : A 61-year-old pilgrim from Bihar died Saturday after falling unconscious at a hotel in Katra the base camp for Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

Suraj Dev Parshad, a resident of Karmali Chak area of Patna, had reached Katra to pay obeisance at the famous shrine.

He fell unconscious at a hotel counter while booking a room and was immediately rushed to nearby a community health centre, a police official said.

Parshad was declared brought dead by doctors and his body would be handed over to his family members after completion of legal formalities, the official said.(P.T.I)
