Srinagar 8, Sept: One terrorist has been killed in a brief shootout in Khul, Ranipora area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. Sources told that terrorist attacked a
Minority Guard picket at Khul area after which forces launched a search operation and traced the terrorists.
The hiding Terrorists opened fire forces injuring one cop of Jammu Kashmir Police and triggering a shootout in which one terrorist was killed. Locals told that massive gunfire was heard around the village of Ranipora at around 1:15 am for nearly half an hour. Officials told that some of the terrorists escaped the gunfight site and now a search has been launched to nab the rest of the terrorists.
The operation was jointly launched by 19 RR of Indian Army and SOG of Jammu Kashmir Police. A local terrorist identified as Bilal Ahmed Bhat from Yaripora area in Kulgam was killed in the brief shootout.The search operation was going on when this report was
