Srinagar, Aug 31, Describing the arrest of elder son on Syed Salahuddin by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) as an act of vengeance, United Jihad Council (UJC) on Friday said that such moves won’t break his resolve.
Syed Shakeel Ahmad, elder son of the UJC chief, was arrested by the NIA during a raid at his residence in Rambagh area of Srinagar yesterday. Another son of Salahuddin was arrested by the NIA in October last year. He is lodged in Tihar Jail since.
Addressing a meeting, UJC Secretary General Sheikh Jameel ur Rehman as per a statement to CNS said the arrest of Shakeel was a cowardly and revengeful act which won’t break the resolve of Salahuddin.
“The fictitious chargesheet of the NIA can’t hoodwink anyone,” he said, according to the statement issued from Muzaffarabad.
He also condemned the harassment of the relatives of the militants.
