21 Bovines rescued, 2 vehicles seized by District Police Samba

Jammu August, 28: Continuing its endeavour to thwart the evil designs of the bovine smugglers, District Police Samba under the overall supervision of Dr. Koshal Sharma, JKPS, SSP Samba, foiled two bovine smuggling bids and rescued 21 bovines in two separate incidents occurred in the jurisdiction of PS Ghagwal during the early hours.

A Police Party of PS Ghagwal headed by SI Bansi Lal, SHO Ghagwal under close supervision of Sh. Deepak Digra, Dy.SP Hqrs Samba, during routine Naka checking at NHW Tapyal signaled to stop a Mahindra vehicle bearing Regd. No. JK08C-4058 which was coming from Kathua side. The driver on seeing the Police Party accelerated the vehicle and abandoned it at NHW Nonath after being chased by the Police. During checking of the vehicle, 05 Bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were being transported illegally without any permission. The vehicle was seized on spot and all the bovines were rescued. In this regard a case FIR No.
114/2018 U/S 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act, has been registered at P/S Ghagwal.

In another similar incident of foiling bovine smuggling bid, a Police Party of PS Ghagwal seized the truck bearing Regd. No.JK02AH/5977 at NHW Ghagwal, after it was kept abandoned by the driver on chasing by the Police Party. During search of the vehicle, 16 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which was being transported illegally without any permission. The vehicle was seized on spot and all the 16 bovines were rescued. In this regard a case FIR No. 115/2018 U/S 188/RPC, 2/3 PCA Act, Act has been registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation started.
