Jammu Aug, 22 : A BSF jawan allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Pargwal area of Akhnoor here, on Wednesday morning in the city outskirts.
Police sources said that jawan identified as Head Constable B K Tiwary allegedly shot himself with SMG while performing his duty along the forward post in Pargwal area.
They added that on hearing the gun shots, his colleagues rushed to the spot and found him in a pool of blood.
“He was rushed to the hospital but declared as brought dead,” police added and said that a case has been registered and investigation started.
