Jammu :21 Aug 18: The arrogance of Principal Govt Degree College Samba can be gauged from the shameful incident in which a female student seeking admission in College is subjected to mental harassment by flatly denying admission on filmy grounds.
This was stated by.National Secular Forum State President Dr Vikas Sharmain a press conference today in which he castigated the obstinate attitude of Principal Govt Degree College Samba for torturing a female girl belonging to a very poor background who was denied admission in the college despite visiting the institution repeatedly for the purpose.
Making mockery of Government policy “Beti Padao, Beti Bachao” Principal of the college is creating hindrances in the career of female students wishing to pursue higher education in his college,said Dr Vikas adding that there are few faculty members in GDC Samba who have established hegemony there and misguiding the college Principal because some teachers have been sitting in the college for the last more than 8 years and Principal seems to be functioning as a puppets in the hands of such teachers.
He alleged that the adamant Principal openly threatens students that if they open their mouth against his dictatorial attitude ,he will spoil their career and character putting their future in a jeopardy.
He further said that the highheadness of the Principal GDC Samba can be visualized from a shameful incident that on the recent sad demise of former Prime Minister ,the national flags on government building were kept flying half mast whereas the national flag in GDC College Samba was not kept flying half mast, thus flagrantly violating the government orders.
He urged the Governor administration to take serious note of irregularities and mental torture perpetrated on a poor female girl students who is moving from pillar to post in the college to get admission. He demanded shifting of such an anti students Principal of GDC Samba and also immediate shifting of teachers sitting there since last a pretty long time. Among those who were present in the press conference included, Anshu Sharma, and Surjit Kumar.
