Los Angeles, Aug 17 : The pre-Broadway “Beetlejuice” has found its ghost in Tony nominee Alex Brightman.The the title role was played on-screen by Michael Keaton.
In addition, the show’s backers, Warner Bros Theatre Ventures and Langley Park Productions, announced that Sophia Anne Caruso will co-star as Lydia, a goth teenager who forms a bond with ghosts. Winona Ryder played the part in the Tim Burton film.
Alex Timbers is directing the pre-Broadway staging at the National Theatre in Washington DC with Connor Gallagher attached as choreographer, reported Variety.
Performances in DC begin October 14, with an official opening on Sunday, November 4.
The musical adaptation features an original score by Eddie Perfect and a book by Scott Brown & Anthony King.(P.T.I)
