156EARTH NEWS SERVICE  Jammu, Dec 17 |15: Minister for Finance, Culture and Labour and Employment, Dr Haseeb Drabu today said Jammu and Kashmir should focus on quality of products and services to become a global player. “For globalization our focus should be on competency rather that competitive advantage and we should aim to become a global player by improving the quality of our products and services to match the global regulatory environment even in domestic set up,” Dr Drabu said in his key note address at the conclusion of 3-day international conference on “Achieving Sustainable Competitive Advantage in Global Business Era” organised by Department of Commerce, University of Jammu. Dr Drabu said building competencies involve setting standards about the product and processes. He stressed on moving from manufacturing economy to knowledge economy and talked about the huge revolution that has come in the financial sector through the concept of globalization. Prof R D Sharma, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu also addressed the delegates. He stressed on the role and challenges of sustainability and competitive advantage in global era and emphasized the role of business enterprises in evading poverty, generating employment and surpluses for the economy. Prof Keshav Sharma, Registrar and Dean Faculty of Business Studies, University of Jammu congratulated the organizers for the successful conference. The conference comprised three plenary sessions, nine technical sessions and workshop on Qualitative Data Analysis. More than hundred eminent researchers and much-admired academicians from various universities and institutions from across the country and abroad were present in the conference
