EARTH NEWS SERVICE Udhampur, Dec 16 |15: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary accompanied by other officers carried out a day long inspection of Ration Depots and camps organised for enrolment under National Food Security Camps in different villages of Udhampur, Majalta and Ramnagar tehsils. The team inspected 28 depots and camps and The NFSA teams briefed the officers about progress achieved and issues of general public redressed. Apart from 179 teams constituted by district administration a team of more than 230 volunteers and social workers as well as NGOs associated with administration are assisting the people for filling up of forms and resolution of issues. Inter-departmental teams of Revenue, Rural Development Department, Health, Social Welfare, ICDS and CAPD have jointly organised the enrolment drive under which forms were distributed to 1,17,000 families and so far more than 79,000 forms have been filled up and received back by the interdepartmental teams. Mobile teams have been deputed for inspection and assistance. A central grievance redressal cell (01992-272727) has been established for receiving complaints and extending assistance. The DC informed that after a district wide awareness campaign conducted by senior most district officers the response has been overwhelming and 100% enrolment will be completed in next two days. He instructed the field staff to carry on enrolment in hilly areas simultaneously with process of scrutiny to ensure that no hardship is faced by people. Patwaris have been deputed at enrolment camps and ration depots along with record for certification of income of applicants to ensure that no inconvenience is faced by the general public during enrolment process.
