EARTH NEWS SERVICE Jammu, Dec 15 |15: Peoples Democratic Party General Secretary Ved Mahajan today askedparty leaders and workers to gear up for the Urban Local Bodies and Panchayat elections, expected to be held soon. While addressing the party workers convention of Jammu Rural District organized by District President F C Bhagat at party office here today, Mahajan said the party needs to be ready for the election to ensure success and take the State forward. “We have to make our party ready so that we win the municipality election with good success and take this State forward”, Mahajan added. Ved Mahajan reminded that PDP in its election manifesto had especially emphasised on Jammu city so as to develop this historical city as heritage tourism destination. “We have a comprehensive vision for developing this historic city in every sphere of life,” he said and reminded that during his earlier tenure as Chief Minister from 2002 to 2005, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had initiated many revolutionary steps for beautification of Jammu city. He said that people have understood everything and are wise enough to compare the present PDP-BJP coalition governance and the previous dispensation and appealed the people to reject those who only put the state on the path of non development and corruption.
