EARTH NEWS SERVICE Kathua, Dec 15 |15: In order to inspect various ongoing development works under Rural Development department, District Development Commissioner Kathua, Ramesh Kumar today conducted an extensive tour of panchayats of Kathua and Barnoti blocks. During his visit of village chan-gran and panchayats of Barnoti blocks, the DDC inspected ongoing works on lanes and drains, drainage of Nallah and shingle metaling of road and other works taken up under MGNREGA. The DDC also inspected ongoing work of Panchayats Ghar building in Panachayat Badala, lanes and drains and flood control works. In his visit to panchayat Gada-Dhar , the DDC inspected protection work of agriculture land. The DDC visited BDO office Barnoti and inspected the functioning of office. He also visited Panchayats Budhi and Barwal and inspected the ongoing work of culverts and lanes and drains, drainage of Nallah, playground and panchayats Ghar building. He visited Pancahyat Lachhipur and inspected Culverts and roads executed by PWD. The DDC called upon the executing agencies to maintain transparency and quality while executing the works, also exhorted upon the officers to take up more works under MGNREGA. ACD Kathua Dr Sunil Sharma, BDO Kathua and BDO Barnoti were also present during the visit.
