Tantray flags off Swachh Bharat Rally

EARTH NEWS SERVICE |Poonch, Dec 08 |15: To generate awareness about cleanliness, Member Legislative Assembly Haveli, Shah Mohammad Tantray and Senior Superintendent of Police, J S Johar Tuesday flagged off a Swachh Bharat awareness rally from Sports Stadium, here. The drive that was taken to each ward in the Poonch Municipal limits culminated at Government Degree College Poonch where students, officials, prominent citizens were administered a Pledge of Cleanliness. Speaking on the occasion, the MLA exhorted upon students to take a lead in maintaining cleanliness all around. He emphasized that clean environment is integral to quality life and students can play an important role in spreading the message of Swachh Bharat Mission. “To keep the town Swachh, we should start at individual levels and propagate the message of importance of cleanliness”, he said. Tantray said that the government is keen to develop Poonch town as a model city and as a representative of the area he would make all efforts to ensure that Poonch town and surrounding tourist spots are developed to their full potential. DySP DAR, Rafi Giri, CEO PMC, Irshad Sofi, Sabar Hussain Bitta and Pardeep Khanna also spoke on the occasion.
