EARTH NEWS SERVICE |Kathua, Dec 06 |15: Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Training Choudhary Lal Singh said that the government is striving hard to strengthen the healthcare facilities across the state, and health institutions are being equipped with required infrastructure and workforce to provide better services to the people. The Minister was speaking at a public meeting held at Kathua today. Director Health Services Jammu Dr B. S Pathania, Project Director AIDS Control Society Dr. Mohan Singh, Dy. Director ISM, CMO Kathua, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kathua, XEN PDD, Tehsidar Kathua, other district officers, sarpanchs, panchs and people in large number were present on the occasion. He said that concerted efforts are being made to provide best healthcare facilities and other basic amenities in rural and hilly. He exhorted upon the officers to generate awareness regarding the welfare schemes especially in the rural areas. He also called upon the members of PRI’s to be proactive in providing information to the people so that they avail the benefits of various flagship schemes and programmes of the central and state government. Earlier deputations from different areas apprised the minister about their demand and problems related to road connectivity water scarcity and other basic amenities. The Minister in response to the issues projected by the people directed the concerned officers take adequate steps to mitigate the grievances of the people in time bound manner.
