EARTH NEWS SERVICE| Srinagar, Dec 2 |15: : Terming the delay in confirmation of KGBV teachers unfortunate, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) Teachers Forum Wednesday threatened to stir an agitation against the government in case they are not regularized. The Forum accused PDP president Mehbooba Mufti of back tracking from her promise and said that Mehbooba had assured them that their issue will be resolved within a fortnight. “So much time has lapsed now and yet the government has not taken any decision in this regard. Government should fulfill their commitment otherwise we will hit the streets again,” KGBV Teachers’ Forum, Mymoona Khan said. “Our files are gathering dust in official corridors from many years. Government has failed to regularize our services. After our repeated protests then Commissioner Secretary Education Shalin Kabra and even PDP president Mehbooba Mufti and Education Minister Nayeem Akhtar had assured us of regularization, but, unfortunately they did nothing till date,” Mymoona said. Pertinently, the fate of around 600 teachers appointed under centrally sponsored scheme Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) is hanging in balance as government failed to regularise their services despite ten years of implementation of the scheme in Jammu and Kashmir.
