61st NSG U-17 Girls Cricket C’ship concludes
EARTH NEWS SERVICE | Jammu, Dec 2|15: Minister for Youth Services & Sports, Information Technology and Technical Education, Molvi Imran Raza Ansari Wednesday congratulated J&K team for winning 61th National School Games (U-17 Girls) Cricket Championship. He also expressed gratitude to School Games Federation of India under whose aegis the National School Games were held here. The Minister who was Chief Guest at the closing ceremony of 61th National School Games (U- 17 Girls) Cricket Championship held at M.A Stadium, Jammu, said that the youth of J&K have tremendous potential and talent which needs to be nurtured and groomed adequately. He said State’s youth have earned laurels for themselves and the State while participating in National and International games. U-17 Girls Cricket championship was first time held in the State which was won by the host team. President, School Games Federation of India (SGFI), Padamshree Mahabali Satpal was the guest of honour on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, the President, SGFI congratulated Jammu and Kashmir team for winning gold medal. He also appreciated the Managers and Coaches of J&K team for providing good guidance and best coaching to the players. The President, SGFI gave the best organizer Award to Director General, Youth Services and Sports Jahangir Mir on the occasion for holding National School Games Championships in a befitting manner. Earlier, DG, YSS in his welcome address highlighted the achievements and activities of the Department. He said nine teams including Telangana, Punjab, Andhra Pardesh, Tamil Nadu, Mahrashtra, Gujjrat, J&K, CBSC and NVS participated in the Championship.
