Executive Officer thrashed in his office chamber

EARTH NEWS SERVICE Hajin, Nov 26 |15: Executive Officer Municipal Committee Hajin, Shakil Ahmed was manhandled and roughed up by the workers of a political party in his office chambers here on Thursday. Eyewitnesses told that panic created in the chambers of Executive Officer MC Hajin in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district after a group of people barged into the office and hurled a fire pot (Kangri) on the Executive Officer. “For the first time I have faced such type of humiliation in my career. These people who are the supporters of PDP MLC Yasir Reshi slapped, abused and dragged me. These people have been illegally appointed as daily wagers in Municipal Committee in 2010 and an inquiry is pending against them. Who am I to release their inquiry has not been completed yet and furthermore if they will get salary others will demand the same as well,” Executive Officer MC Hajin Shakil Ahmed said. He alleged that a day before the assualt, PDP MLC Yasir Reshi rung him up on the mobile and threatened him of dire consequences in case salaries are not released in favour of his particular supporters. “Reshi not only abused me on phone but also threatened to kill me,” Shakil said adding that he has approached Police Station and lodged a complaint against the assailants. Confirming the incident, a police official from Hajin Police Station said that both the parties complained against each other as a result they registered FIR and counter FIR vide number 76 and 77/2015 in this regard. Meanwhile, PDP MLC Yasir Reshi while refuting the allegations said that the said Executive Officer was not ‘people friendly’ who according to him intentionally deprive daily wagers from their salaries.
